E.T. Hawk Photographs

The Eugene T. Hawk photographs were collected by Mr. Hawk, who was active amongst railroad historians and enthusiasts in the Spokane area. Most of the photographs are 5" x 7" glass negatives that capture scenes in and around Spokane in the 1910s. Primary subjects include the construction of the Union Pacific rail line into Spokane in 1913-1914, parades and fairs in Spokane, and athletics events. Many of the photographs were taken by Frank Guilbert, who was a Spokane-area booster and head of the Spokane County Good Roads Association.

A smaller portion of the collection include photographs of farms, towns, and other sites likely in the Pacific Northwest.

A number of the photograph descriptions were researched and created by John Klimt.
