Description

Team photo of the Spokane Indians baseball team on April 9th, 1914 at Recreation Park, Spokane, Washington. This was to be their first exhibition game of the season, with the Spokane Indians playing against Washington State College. The real opening game of the season was a few days later, on April 14th, between the Spokane Indians and the Victoria Bees. Players from left to right: Danny Shea, Melvin Speake, Walter Holke, George “Highpockets” Kelly, Walter “Sad Slim” Smith, Jesse Baker, Mike Lynch (manager), Jack Goldie, Roy Nelson, Stan Covelski and Johnny Wuffli.
