Description

Jacinto "Jack" Calvo was a Cuban American outfielder who played baseball in the Northwestern League, Pacific Coast League, and the Major Leagues. Gilberto Garcia in his article titled "Beisboleros: Latin Americans and Baseball in the Northwest, 1914-1937" writes that Calvo was an excellent hitter and base stealer during his years with Victoria and Vancouver in the Northwestern League. This digital reproduction of a Zee Nut baseball card was created by the Eastern Washington University graphics department for a project for Dr. Gilberto Garcia on the history of Latin Americans playing baseball in the United States.
