Jumpers Chet and Virgil Derry stand in jump gear in front of a Stinson Reliant aircraft. The jumpers wear jump suits, helmet with mask, and the main and emergency parachutes. The photograph was taken during smokejumping experiments in Winthrop, Washington in 1939.
