Description

The photo shows the newly installed roof at quarters #5 barn at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge. The photo is showing the west side of the building. The barn previously had wooden shingles and these were replaced with asphalt shingles, along with the new sheeting and roofing felt among other things. The May-August 1950 report indicates that a dairy barn from Pine Creek was moved to quarters 5 to serve as a machine shed. The work to replace the roof was contracted out to the company Home Builders Service based in Spokane, Washington.
