Description

Stubblefield Lake in Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge, Cheney, Washington, 1951. The annual report from Turnbull this year notes that the no grazing by cattle was done area by Stubblefield Lake, which was done at various parts of the refuge for many years. Because there was no grazing, that allowed the vegetation to grow more as can be seen in the photo. The author of the annual report also points out that there is a stand of Arrowhead (Sagittaria) visible in this photo.
