Description

Three men and a labrador retriever near Lake Isaacson at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge, Cheney, Washington, April 29th,1951. The goal with the retriever trials then, like many retriever trials today, was primarily for dogs, specifically retrievers, to compete in finding and retrieving fallen game. The retriever trials at Turnbull in April that year was an in-club competition and a picnic arranged by the Spokane Retriever Club. About 50 people with 20 retrievers were in attendance.
