Obituary
Lt. Colonel Peter Maruek, 72, died July 28, 2004, in his home in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born December 13, 1931, in Clinton, Iowa and graduated from high school in Clinton inn 1949. He enlisted in the Army in 1953 and retired in 1973. Lou served in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. He was awarded many medals including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Following his retirement from the Army, Lou earned a bachelor’s and a master’s in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University. He taught at Sullivan Village Elementary School from 1978 until 1988. Lou jumped at McCall during the 1952 season.
