Obituary
Robert, 97, died March 9, 2021. He was born October 4, 1923, in Wood River, Nebraska. He was living in Lebanon, Oregon, when he registered for the draft in 1942 and a member of the Mennonite Church. He was inducted into Civilian Public Service in 1943 from Lebanon where he was working in a sawmill. Robert jumped at McCall during the 1945 season and to seven practice and seven fire jumps. Upon his return to Oregon after WWII, he married Grace Widmer in 1948. They were married for over 72 years. After several jobs he graduated from Salem Technical Institute and worked for the Oregon State Highway Dept. for 21 years as a Cartographer.
