Obituary
Ed died November 2, 2022. He was born July 24, 1947, in Missoula, Montana. Ed was a teacher, a successful business owner, a track coach, a smokejumper, a landlord, a career education materials developer, a runner, and most importantly the father of two girls who grew into outstanding women. Ed grew up in Boise after his mom, Irene, who was also a teacher, insisted they move to an area that had better educational opportunities than the rural Idaho towns they lived in while his dad worked for the USFS. Ed graduated from Boise State University with a BA in Geography and obtained a masters in Secondary School Administration at the College of Idaho. He taught at Fairmont Junior High for his entire career. In the summers, he worked as a wildland firefighter and then a smokejumper for the Boise N.F. at the Boise Interagency Fire Center. Ed jumped at McCall 1968 and at Boise 1971-75.
