Obituary
Jim, 71, died Aug. 26, 2000 at his home in Princeton, Idaho. He was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, and graduated in 1947 from high school in Coudersport where he was captain of the football team and was active in drama and yearbook. A Missoula jumper in 1950 and 1952, he graduated with a bachelors in forestry from Pennsylvania State University. He had worked for the Idaho Department of Forests and Waters as a timber sales supervisor and began permanent employment with the U.S. Forest Service on the Priest Lake District of the Kaniksu National Forest in 1953. He continued working for the agency for 32 years in various parts of Idaho and Montana, including the Nez Perce and Clearwater National Forests. Following his retirement, he worked as a consulting forester for many years.
