Description
This portrait of Millie Shinn (left) and Virginia Harper (right) was taken in front of the Mamer hanger at Felts Field in Spokane, Washington. The women are wearing a patches for the Mooney aircraft company. The photograph was taken for their participation in the 1964 All Women's Transcontinental Air Race from Fresno, California to Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Mark 21 airplane they flew in the race is behind them.
