Description
This article from the Fall 1994 issue of Spokane Woman highlights two members of the Northwest Section of the Ninety-Nines, Mille Shinn and Barbara Thisted. The section on Shinn focuses on her service for the Civilian Aeronautics Administration during World War II and her experience flying the All Women's Transcontinental Air Race (AWTAR). The section on Thisted focuses on her early aviation experiences in the 1940s, as well as her various piloting experiences in California. The article is enclosed in Millie Shinn's scrapbook on her participation in AWTAR.
