The panels in this series are part of a traveling exhibit created by the National Smokejumper Association (NSA), the National Fire Fighter Corp., and the Springfield Museum in Springfield, Oregon in 2016. The exhibit describes the history and practices of smokejumpers in the United States. The traveling exhibit also featured a 25-minute film loop not included in this series. An article about the exhibit by NSA member Chuck Sheley may be found in the October 2016 issue of Smokejumper Magazine.
