Dorothy Lowe attended Eastern Washington College of Education in the early-1940s, graduating in 1943. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1923 before moving to the United States. After graduation, she taught elementary school in Tacoma, Washington until her retirement in 1985. She died in 2017 in Tacoma.
