Description
Robert "Bob" Neill was born June 25, 1921 in Pullman, Washington to Robert and Anna, after whom the Neill Public Library is named. Bob graduated from Pullman High School and Washington State College. Neill enlisted in the United States Army serving in the 101st Airborne Division and fighting in the Netherlands after a drop on September 17, 1944. Neill earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service during World War II. After the War, he returned to Washington State College and married fellow student Virginia Leigh McMath on January 26, 1946. After graduating from college, Neill took over the family furniture business. He died September 25, 2002.
