Two jumpers let down from an alder tree where a parachute is visible near the top of the tree canopy. The number written in the lower margin of the photograph likely corresponds to a photo reference number used by the National Archives and Records Administration (388825). This photograph was taken during smokejumping experiments near Winthrop, Washington in 1939.
