Description

A jumper deomonstrates how to exit an aircraft for smokejumping. The jumper is in full jump gear and holds on to the strut of a Stinson Reliant aircraft. The photograph was taken during smokejumping experiments in Winthrop, Washington in 1939. The caption reads "Okanogan National Forest - Method of leaving the plane." This image is a mounted print used for reference by the National Archives.
