Description

The description on the photograph reads "Parachute jumper Dick Tuttle near top of 100-foot lodgepole pine sang about to be assisted by Forest Guard Francis Lufikin." A parachute hangs high in the pine tree and equipment dangles from the ropes. This photograph was taken during a smokejumper experiment in Winthrop, Washington in 1939.
