A jumper stands on a forest floor about to free himself from the parachute. He is wearing a jumpsuit and helmet. The caption on the print reads "Fire-fighting parachute jumper at end of descent about to free himself from chute, remove protection suit, and start for fire." This jump is part of smokejumping experiments in Winthrop, Washington in 1939. This is a mounted print used for reference by the National Archives.
