The west side of quarters #5 barn at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge during the replacement of its roof in 1952. According to the annual report from that year, the old wooden shingles, sheathing and cupolas were removed and replaced with new sheathing, roofing felt, asphalt shingles, ridge roll and terminal globes. The May-August 1950 report indicates that a dairy barn from Pine Creek was moved to quarters 5 to serve as a machine shed. The work to replace the roof was contracted out to the company Home Builders Service based in Spokane, Washington.
