Abstract
In this letter to his sister, Thomas Evans writes a Union camp of thousands near Falmouth, Kentucky. He describes the diet of Union soldiers including livestock prepared by butchers detailed with the unit. He also mentions hearing a rumor about a Union victory by General Buell over General Bragg.
