Abstract

In this letter to his parents Thomas Evans describes his unit's preparations to fight on behalf of the Union army in the Civil War. He also mentions that he will not be able to come home prior to deployment as he expected. The letter was written at Camp Delaware, a camp near Delaware, Ohio where the 96th Ohio Volunteer Infantry was initially organized.
