This collection largely consists of photographs of the Takami family in the Logan Hotel, which Ikuta (Harry) and Tsuruyo (Mary) Takami ran from 1956 to 1966. Other members of the family appearing in the photographs include Ikuta and Tsuruyo's son Taki and Taki's children Linda and Deborah.
The Logan Hotel was a single room occupancy (SRO) hotel built in 1890 on the corner of Main Avenue and Stevens Street. It housed a clientele that consisted in part of migrant laborers before it closed in 1966. The building, which also housed the Noodle Grill, was demolished in 1972.
Deborah and Linda Takami provided more details about the memories of their grandparents and the Logan Hotel in an oral history, which may be downloaded here.
