This report describes Russian parachute technology used in their smokejumping program. It was written by Bruce Ford from a 2001 trip to Russia supported by the Bureau of Land Management's International Program. The report provides specific information about activation devices used by Russian smokejumpers in hopes of improving equipment used by American smokejumpers.
