Alaska fire delegation in Russia
Description
This report describes the exchange of information and techniques related to wildland fire fighting between a delegation from Alaska and Russia that took place in Russia in August 1993. The Alaskan delegation visited the Northeast Fire Center in Magadan, the Far East Fire Center in Khabarovsk, and the Russian Aerial Fire Center in Moscow. The report describes equipment, techniques, and personnel used by both Russians and Americans in fighting wildfires through smokejumping and rappelling.
