Obituary
Steve died of cancer April 10, 2001, in Chico, California. He jumped at Redding during the 1998 season and was working for the USFS on the Mendocino N.F. as a fire engine operator on the Stonyford District. Steve was also fire chief of the Stonyford Volunteer Fire Department. Steve started his seven-year career with the USFS on a District Cultural Crew and was promoted to the FEO position before his rookie year at Redding.
