Jerry died August 10, 2014, in Grass Valley, California. He graduated from the University of Idaho 1959 and earned his Masters Degree in 1973. Jerry's 20-year career in the Marine Corps began in 1959 where he rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel. He served three tours in Vietnam where he earned the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, the Navy Commendation Medal and a Purple Heart. While in Vietnam from September 1966 through July 1967 he commanded Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. Jerry finally retired in 1998 to Grass Valley. He jumped at McCall 1956-59. Jerry was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in February 2015.
