Obituary
Bill, 78, died June 13, 2021, from Alzheimer's. He was born June 15, 1942, in Sandpoint, Idaho, where he grew up and graduated from Sandpoint H.S. Bill went to Idaho State University where he played basketball and graduated with a degree in Forestry. He had a career with the USFS working at the Northern Fire Lab, the Lolo and Bitterroot forests, regional offices in Missoula and San Francisco, and Washington D.C. Bill retired in 1996 and returned to live in Missoula in 1999. Bill loved river rafting and river guiding, camping, coaching, and playing softball. He was an avid Griz fan. Bill was a Life Member of the National Smokejumper Association and jumped at Missoula 1963-65.
