Bob, 88, died January 16, 2016, in Lewiston, Idaho. He was born April 28, 1927, in Missoula, Montana. He was 18 years old and just out of high school when he rookied at Missoula in 1945 making seven practice and six fire jumps that season. Bob graduated from the University of Montana, where he played tackle on the Grizzly football team, with a degree in Forestry in 1950. Bob served in the Army during the Korean War and returned to a career with the USFS where he retired as Forest Supervisor for the Superior N.F. in 1982. Bob jumped during the 1945-46 seasons.
