Obituary
Shep died April 20, 2016, in Boise, Idaho. He graduated from New Meadows High School and joined the Marines in 1951 during the Korean War where he was wounded in action. Shep went back to Idaho and was working on a ranch when he joined the McCall Smokejumpers in 1956. He was recruited and joined the CIA and spent 15 years working for the Agency in Southeast Asia. This story has been printed in Smokejumper magazine and will be run again in this (Oct. 2016) issue. When he returned to the states, Shep went to work for the BLM and retired in 1990 and moved to Vale, Oregon, where he raised horses and cattle.
