George died June 20, 2006, in Lebanon, Oregon. He was born January 27, 1947, in Cloverdale, California and grew up in Westwood where he graduated from high school in 1965. He jumped at Redding during the 1969 season before moving to Sweet Home, Oregon in 1970 where he worked for the Forest Service.
