Obituary
Roy died December 30, 2016, in Hood River, Oregon, after a two-year battle with ALS. He was born on Sept. 10, 1942, in Seattle, Washington. Roy grew up in Twisp, WA, and attended the University of Washington and Wenatchee Valley College. Roy jumped at NCSB during the 1962-63 and 1966 seasons. After graduating from college, Roy was drafted into the Army and served a tour in Vietnam from 1964-65. On his return, Roy was hired by a private telephone contractor and traveled the western states installing telephone switches. He continued to work for United Telephone after moving to Hood River where he worked five acres raising cherries.
