Obituary
John died December 17, 2019. He jumped at Cave Junction in 1950 before entering the Navy and starting his career as a Naval Aviator. John transitioned from WWII piston engine fighters to jets. He flew off 12 different carriers with over 700 carrier landings and logging 89 combat missions in Vietnam. John was in seven different squadrons and was Exe. Office and Command Officer in his last squadron. John retired in northern Idaho and built a high-performance plane that he used to fly all over the U.S. He flew charters and instructed for many years only stopping in his late 80s. John received the Wilber and Oroville Wright award for over 50 years of continuous flying.
