Obituary

Ed died February 22, 2020, at home in Citrus Heights, CA. He worked for the BLM for more than 40 years, including being California State Director for over 20 years. He spent his retirement years as a consultant, enjoying camping and hiking trips with family and walking his dog. Ed jumped at Missoula during the 1954 season. Ed graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Forest Management and spent 1951-53 in the Army Airborne. In 1986 Ed was given a special award. From The Washington Post: "President Reagan yesterday presented Distinguished Presidential Rank Awards, the highest honor in the elite Senior Executive Service, to 44 winners whom he described as 'the best of the best in serving the American people.'" "They lead the leaders of the federal establishment," Reagan said in a ceremony at the Old Executive Office Building.
