Obituary
Chuck, of Sandpoint, Idaho, died October 10, 2023, of prostate cancer. He was born November 11, 1942, in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Forestry in 1964. He continued his education earning a masters in Forestry from Oregon State University in 1966, and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, in 1971. Chuck then began his 36-year teaching career at Southern Illinois University and then moved to the University of Idaho. He was Vice President for Research and associate professor in forest resources at Idaho where he spent the majority of his career. He was past chair of the Western Region of the National Assoc. of Professional Forestry Schools. Chuck jumped at Grangeville the 1963 season and was a Life Member of the NSA.
