Obituary
Pete was born May 9, 1916 in South Dakota. When he registered for the draft in October of 1940 his listed residence was Sedgdwick, KS. Pete served in the Army Air Force until his release in 1945. He re-upped in the Air Force in 1948 and made it a career retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1965. His date of death is October 17, 1974, age 58, in San Bernadino, CA. He had three fire jumps during the 1942 season. We can not definitely connect this information to him being a smokejumper but is it the best we can do at this time.
