Obituary
Doug died March 26, 2024. He was born February 15, 1942, in Ontario, Oregon. The family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, a few years later, and he graduated from Twin Falls H.S. in 1960, followed by a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho. Doug jumped at Missoula in 1964 and Grangeville in 1965. He served in the USAF as a Flight Navigator stationed in Taiwan during the Vietnam War. Doug met his wife, Mary Lou, while in Taiwan. After his time in the Air Force, they moved to Twin Falls, where he was a founding member of the engineering firm Edwards, Howard, and Martens. Doug was Twin Falls Highway Commissioner for several years and later served as Head Administrator for the South-Central District of the Department of Environmental Quality. He was a private pilot, ran his first marathon at age 66, and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro at age 73.
