Obituary
Bruce died April 4, 2023. He was born December 16, 1938, in Boise, Idaho, and grew up in Garden Valley living near where his father worked for the USFS. Bruce graduated from Garden Valley H.S., attended Boise Junior College, and the University of Idaho where he earned his bachelor's in Forestry. Bruce jumped at Idaho City in 1958 and at McCall in 1959. After his university graduated, he was drafted into the Army where he served two years as a paratrooper. Following his discharge, he went to work for Boise Cascade in the logging business. He had a 30-year career as their fee lands manager for southern Idaho. In 1975 Bruce started a Christmas Tree business that he and his wife ran for 40 years. He spent 12 years on the Horseshoe Bend School Board and was proud to be part of the successful effort in 1990 to finally build a high school in the community after two previous failed attempts. He viewed this period of service along with his time in the military as his most important contributions of giving back to society.
