Eric died June 8, 2023, from pancreatic cancer. He was born in San Diego, California, on May 15th, 1953. He attended the University of Montana and received a Bachelor of Science in Resource Conservation. He operated as a smokejumper in McCall from 1983-88 with 57 fire jumps and took on several other positions throughout his life as a wildland firefighter and AD. He spent time working for the Forest Service, BLM, and the Fish and Wildlife Service. Eric was married to Jodie on November 29th, 1997.
