Obituary

Denny died March 3, 2023. He was born in Bremerton Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Washington, January 10,1939, and spent much of his life on Long Lake, between Bremerton and Port Orchard, Washington. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1957 where he was a running back in football and on the track team. Denny jumped the 1958 season at NCSB. He was drafted in 1959 and was a member of the 101st Airborne rising through the ranks and being commissioned as a 1st Lt. He was the distinguished graduate of his class in Ranger school in 1961. Denny was assigned to the military assistance command, Vietnam, as an ARVN Ranger advisor to the south Vietnamese army and served in the Highlands along the Laotian and Cambodian border. He was wounded in both legs in 1962. After returning to duty, he was assigned to the 505th Parachute infantry Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division and returned to Vietnam with the Golden Brigade. He served in 1968 during the TET offensive in Hue. His military career took a turn, and he was transferred the Military Police Corps in 1974. Denny finished his degree at Central Washington University, earning a master's in criminal psychology. Denny's military career would span 35 years and many duty posts. He retired from the Army as a full Colonel. He then moved to Italy where he did contract work as a policeman for MPRI until retirement in 2015.
