Obituary
Lt. Colonel Raymond "Ray" Marshall died July 8, 2017 in Phenix City, Alabama. He was born October 27, 1928 in Philadelphia and grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania. Ray entered the Navy after graduating from high school in 1946 and served two enlistments and on four submarines. He graduated from the University of Idaho and received a Regular Army Commission. Ray jumped at McCall during the 1951 season while attending the university. He qualified as a Ranger, Special Forces Officer and served multiple tours in Vietnam. Ray retired from the Army in 1975 and farmed in Georgia before moving to Alabama in 1996.
