Dale, 53, died May 1, 1992, in Mesa, Arizona. He was born December 18, 1938, Sioux Falls, S.D., where he grew up. He graduated from high school in Okinawa. Dale attended South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota. He was paralyzed from injuries received on his first fire jump. In 1964 he moved to Florida where he completed his education as a licensed nursing home administrator. In 1989, he moved to Mesa where he owned the Desert Rose Hair Salon.
