Henry, 19, died August 5, 1949, along with 11 other Missoula smokejumpers in the Mann Gulch Fire. He was born April 19, 1930, in Kalispell, Montana. He grew up in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead H.S. in 1948. Henry worked for the Forest Service in 1947 as a fire guard on the Condon R.D. He planned to enter Montana State University in September.
