Obituary
Mick died October 5, l993 from a heart attack at his home in Cave Junction, Oregon. He was born May 5, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He started jumping a year ahead of "legal" age and repeated his 18th birthday his 2nd year. Mick worked his way up to foreman at CJ before leaving to work for Air America. He is the person in the tree in the photo on the cover of the NSA video "History of Smokejumping". After his stint with Air America, he returned to Cave Junction where he jumped 1969-77. Mick jumped at Cave Junction 1956, 1962-65, 1969-77 and Redding 1957-61.
