Obituary
Ted, 40, Beaverhead Forest Engineer, died September 23, 1966, in the crash of a helicopter near Quake Lake. He was working out of Dillon at the time. Eight smokejumpers parachuted to the scene the following day to rescue one survivor and clear a landing spot for a rescue helicopter. He was born July 8, 1926, in Kemmerer, Wyoming, and married Daphene Randall in Missoula in 1946. Ted was a WWII Navy veteran
