Obituary
Chuck, 46, died December 12, 1996 in an accident while topping trees in the Deschutes N.F. out of Redmond, OR. It is believed that there was some kind of equipment failure which caused him to fall 60 feet. He was born on Aug. 25, 1950, in Twisp. He was a U.S. Forest Service smokejumper for 10 years. The last 10 years he had been a forestry contractor with his partner, Gary Robinson, in their own business. Chuck jumped at North Cascades 1979-80 and Redmond 1981-89.
