Dan, 33, died February 9, 1985, after e caught in an avalanche near Lolo Pass west of Missoula. He was born July 26, 1951, in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he graduated from high school in 1959. Dan graduated from Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., and moved to Missoula. He was employed by the USFS since 1974 and jumped at Missoula 1979-84.
