Obituary
Ed died October 27, 1999, from complications of cancer surgery. He jumped at Cave Junction for two years before enlisting in the Army, where he served in the 101st Airborne Division, 801st Maintenance Battalion, in Vietnam. Ed attended Shasta Community College in 1964 and 1965 and was recently inducted into the SCC Athletic Hall of Fame. He worked most of his life as a logger and mill worker. He is survived by his wife, Glenna, and son Roy Paul. Although it was never proven, some attribute his bout with cancer to his constant contact with agent orange in Viet Nam. He battled cancer from shortly after his return from Viet Nam until the day he died.
