Darrell died February 20, 2006, in a motorcycle accident in Helena, Montana. He attended Montana State University and was currently attending nursing school. After serving in the U. S. Army, Darrell was a BLM Smokejumper for 12 years in Boise, Idaho. He worked for the Great Falls Fire Department from 2000-2003 and at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Fort Harrison from 2003 until the present. Darrell jumped at Missoula 1989-90 and at NIFC 1991-99.
